"Wheeler's Orpheus to become Mom's Beach House Cafe." -Headlight-Hearld - Tillamook, Oregon
Maybe you've heard of Wheeler, Oregon, or maybe you've just passed by it on Hwy 101 between Tillamook and Seaside. Either way, there is now a reason to stop and visit this charming coastal town. Mom's Beach House Cafe will open for business this week. Located in the historic "Old Wheeler Hotel" building at 495 Nehalem Blvd, Chari (aka my mom) will serve daily specials, deli-style sandwiches, homemade soups, and gourmet salads. Little touches such as fresh baked bread, locally roasted espresso drinks, and Tillamook ice cream sundaes topped with her famous "hot fudge" will satisfy the taste buds of beach bums, both young and old.
As recently quoted in the Headlight-Hearld, her goal is to provide a "warm, friendly environment that is an integral part of the neighborhood community." She hopes people will feel like they can come and comfortably enjoy a meal like they are in their own vacation home. She has provided a nice collection of board games, magazines, and (of course) Wi-Fi to encourage people to hang up their coat and stay a while.
