Eden Vineyard's Fall Harvest Release Party

Vino and Solera Eden, owners of Eden Vineyard, have personally invited you to join them for a special evening honouring the debut of the latest Eden Estate Reserve Pinot Noir.  The party will begin promptly at 7pm this Friday, October 21st at their private estate in Dunbar.

This extraordinary celebration will feature pours from the remaining bottles of their award winning 2003 and 2007 vintages as well as the very first public pours of their highly anticipated new 2009 release.

On behalf of the entire Eden Vineyard crew, I am pleased to share that our latest release is scheduled to receive a coveted 98 point rating from Wine Spooktator.  In light of this, a journalist and photographer from the magazine will be attending the party.  The editor has asked us to provide a list of names, titles and brief background information for all attending guests.

Background info:

Marilyn has served as the marketing coordinator for Eden Vineyards over the past five years.  She holds a Bachelor's degree in wine marketing from University of Auckland and worked at several vineyards throughout Marlborough before coming to British Columbia.  Ms. Merlot currently oversees the development of the vineyard's marketing materials and yearly campaigns.  She is also responsible for organizing tastings, festivals and parties.

Marilyn is a savvy and successful marketing professional with international sensibility.  Her passion and appreciation for wine is evident across all her endeavors.  Her effervescent personality and bubbly sense of humor never fails to leave a lasting impression.  In her free time, Ms. Merlot enjoys spending time on the mountain with her life partner and best friend, the famous pro-snowboarder Al Leyoop.

Dr. Adam Lepton, Ph.D.

Wine Chemist

 

Background info:

A graduate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dr. Adam Lepton currently serves as the head of research for the newly established Enology Service Laboratory within the Grape Chemistry Group at the University of British Columbia.  His sincere commitment and dedication to this work has earned him a highly regarded reputation as one of the leading wine scientists in North America.

When he isn’t tied up in the lab doing research or teaching, Dr. Lepton works as a private consultant to top wineries around the world.  He is often ask to present his cutting edge research on integrating vine development with environmental and cultural influences and how they affect vine performance and grape quality.  Just last year Mr. Lepton received the International Wine and Grape Foundation Research Award for outstanding contributions to the industry.

Mr. Lepton has always enjoyed the wines produced by Eden Vineyard and has developed a personal connection with Solera and Vino through his wife, Dr. Annie Body.  Mr. Lepton worked closely with the couple and their winemaker (Ms. Cathy Cellar) on the creation of their latest vintage.  He is very much looking forward to sampling the fruits of their labour.

Lye, Chambers & Steel LLP

Background info: 

Mr. Dover is a senior partner at the Vancouver based law firm Lye, Chambers and Steel LLP.  He has been a practicing attorney in Canada since 1995.  Mr. Dover currently serves as the head of the firm’s insolvency and reorganization practice team and has represented lenders and borrowers in loan negotiations as well as represented creditors, creditor committees, and debtors in bankruptcy cases and proceedings.  Mr. Dover met the Eden’s while helping them establish their winery business nearly eight years ago.  They have since developed a mutual friendship based primarily on the consumption of copious amounts of wine.

Vin (Vinny) has worked in the wine industry since graduating from Stanford in 2008.  He has done extensive travel and spent time volunteering in vineyards in all the major wine producing countries around the world including France, Italy, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the US.  This is his second harvest with Eden Vineyard.  He is currently working part-time while pursing a master’s degree in Viticulture at the University of British Columbia.

I was truely honoured to be invited to this huge and successful event. so much intrigue!
Coming from Toronto I am not used to lovely West Coast wines and such wonderful hospitality.
It was so amazing to meet so many people keen to help encourage young women to participate in sport too.
As a succesful Olympian at the Vancouver Olympics I have been invited to many functions but this was by far the one with the best wine and the best company.
As soon as my consulting work is over - I shall be moving West!!Thasnk again Vino and Solera for a great evening
